ahh it's good to read about this, my friend was just asking me the other day were the open air baths used to be in S/Shields.
Blow the quaser crap up and reinstate the pool, NT Council have made a complete balls up of Tynemouth open air baths by filling it with boulders, that combined with the ever rusting railings makes it a bloody eye sore..
I wish they'd renovate it properly and us hard Norveners could take a dip in it again..(bobbing around the dead flies and dog ends)

happy memories of being with my mam and nana sitting on the steps as I screamed "Maaammm watch us dive in"

I've actually been in that swimming pool, but it was empty and unused at the time, they demolished it a few years later. It was just one big mass of concrete.

I've worked on that house Jimmy, that shot is the pathway at the back of the house.
It was an elderly couple who had it at the time, I think it was called the lodge house.

pilot, i thought the seaplane ramp was at the end of the beach at trow rocks, seems a bit daft though as they would be trying to take off in lumpy seas

this is a photo of the old police phone at whiteleas, i think its the only one left in the town as far as i know, and i guess that there will not be many left in the country as these phones were put on housing estates before most people could afford to own their own telephone in the house, it should be rescued and sent to a musem before if rusts away to nothing
