Was it a bit racey ?
Not really it was just a bit saucy - Benny Hill type humour. It probably wouldnt be allowed today.

POST TOPIC

Post by Globalmyths »

Boiled lollies in New Zealand we used to get marble sized black and white lollies that were mint flavoured and were simply called Black Balls there was a brown and white version and these were called Brandy Balls. I cant remember what the Brandy Balls tasted like, but doubt that they would have had real Brandy as a flavouring in them.

In 1958 I joined the RNZAMC we had in one of the Army bases a flu epidemic naturally we had a busy time looking after a lot of patients. A rumour started well founded or not I do not know. But the rumour was if you sucked black balls it would keep your temperature elevated and while your temperature was elevated of course you would not be discharged from hospital back to full duties.

The Papakura Camp Hospital Matron heard about and also believed this rumour and took it on herself to go around the ward asking the patients if they had any Black Balls. Every soldier she asked denied having any and the last bed she approached in ward 1. the patient was hiding-sleeping with the blankets right over him and you could only see his body shape but nothing else.

The Matron approached this bed prodded the body under the blankets and in her sternest voice said "Have you got Black Balls? A very dark Maori boy poked his head out and said "Yes Maam", The Matron went bright red and went straight back to her office without asking any of the patients in the other wards.

I have also noted that there is no fighting among the members on this particular board. Then I realised its all due to the SWEETNESS of this thread.

And I bet you thought it had come to a sticky end.

I remember Cadbury's bringing out a lovely chocolate bar...no not the first Wispa it was called Cabana, it had coconut and cherries in it. They never lasted long.

Gonna where the days you could get 2 mojo chews or black jacks for a half penny. they are now 5p each just dont taste the same.

But my favourite was the Tutti Fruiti, I liked the purple ones. yummy!! Although in the very early years my dad wouldnt allow us to have sweets so I feel i missed out in the early 70's, but soon made up for that. :?

I would like to know how that model could open a flake and have it all adhere together and not fall to bits. Bcause every time I undo a flake its nothing but bleeding crumbs.
