Help - Geordie dialect word (s)

Post by Jerry »

'Sweatin' like a ramper'. This is something my sister overheard. Does anybody know what a ramper is/was?

Bill Griffiths is bringing out a new edition of his North East Dialect Dictionary and is looking for extra words. He has those we all know, but if anybody has some favourite or unusual ones, perhaps used by parents/grandparents, I'll pass them on to him. 'Ramper' has him stumped.
