I have now been able to establish occupiers re 1914- Edward Smith and family who subsequently became Mayor in 1921/22.
The house was named Maru House. The name appears on the details of their Son George's death in France march 1916. Does anyone have any knowledge of the name?

I've got photos of Edward Smith and also one of his wife.

Mr Smith , that's interesting. Edward was my wife's grandfather but we have very little in the way of photos of him or his wife. Might it be possible to PM me with a couple.
Thanks

Thanks Mr Smith. Much appreciated especially by my good lady wife. Had not seen this picture of Mrs Smith before.
