Harton Colliery School.

Post by passtheball »

Does anyone have any knowledge of a photograph please of Harton Colliery School ? This used to be on Harton Lane, and was opposite to the entrance to Loudon Street, it was apparently demolished during the early 1930's when the new council houses were built that replaced Double Row, Quality Row etc. Any information as well would be much welcomed, thank you.

Hi passtheball. I don't have any photos offhand, but the Harton Colliery schools were still there in the late 60's and early 70's, so I don't think they were demolished in the 30's. Maybe if someone had pics from that end of Harton Lane around that time, you might be more successful.
