Blind Institute Workshop, Kepple Street.

Post by bob rodgers »

My grandfather, William Isaac Walters a basket maker, came over from his business in North Shields to established this facility in the 1920's. Has anyone information about the Institute or photographs of the street. I sometimes find that what I am looking for is on a picture taken for another reason, so if anyone any shots related to the street, basket making or the Walters family it would be of interest.

I served my time as a welder in Smith's Dock 1965 - 70 and attended the Tec on Ocean Road and Whestoe, it would be good to hear from anyone there with me.
