Readheads ship "Himerland"

Post by windmillbill »

In the 1960s, does anyone remember the Himerland fitting out, and any of the joiners, one nicknamed the phantom joiner who used to jump the wall regularly and come back to clock off.

Hello windmillhillbill,

Can't remember Himerland at Readheads, however, do you remember the foreman joiner nicknamed 'lashytits' because, when presented with a job, he would say " we'll lashthe t*ts off this".

Has anyone any information about the s.s.'Kelmscott' also built at Readheads, no idea of the date.

Cheers

Dennis.
