mark we have some local accommodation on our main website

http://www.southshields-sanddancers.co. ... dation.htm

as for the pubs we have lots to choose from if you are more of a mature drinker then go down to the pubs in the mill dam which is just off the market place or if you like to go off your head then stick to the town centre pubs, one local attraction to visit is souter lighthouse which was the worlds first electric powered lighthouse and just down the road from it is the marsden grotto pub which is built into caves in the cliffs, if you have a car then beamish Museum is a must but it will take you a whole day to see it all

Mark A. Have a beer in "Kirkpatricks" pub. I dont know what it is like now! But it's name has an Australian connection. "The man with the donkey". Who's statue is near-by.
"The world is a stage, but the play is badly cast."

"We are each our own devil, and we make this world our hell."
