Nothing. Left 30 years ago and don't return now. Last time I was there I was shocked at how it had gone downhill. People are different too. I'll just keep my memories. Better that way.

I’ve worked abroad for the last 20 years and although I still have a home on Tyneside I bought a place in Spain 5 years ago and to be honest haven’t looked back. You can still get your Indian meal (albeit not the Raj) you can still get your Chinese Thai Greek Italian kebabs and a Brit Sunday lunch. But the difference is in the weather, which ranges from red hot to just nice.
An old boss of mine once said to me “there’s no future in history “ and he was spot on.
