Edwards Street 1925 CUMMINGS genealogy

Post by RedAsh »

I have a solitary photo with Edwards Street South Shields written on the back of what I assume is a photo of my Aunt. Her mother was Jane Ellen Cummings and Jane's father was James Smith Cummings.
In the 1911 Census they lived at 29 LAWSON STREET NORTH SHIELDS.

So my question is can anyone look up in the local electoral records entries for Cummings at Edwards Street in the 1920's 1930's for me and list the occupants? Does this street still exist?

Thanks, R

I was in the library yesterday and i checked the electoral rolls from 1920 to 1935 and there is no Cummings in EDWARD ST. between those dates. Edward street was near where Crossgate is today it no longer exists, it was pulled down many years ago. There was another street in S. Shields called H.S. Edward St maybe the person who wrote the message on the back of the photo meant that street?

Thanks for your efforts, I don't know the area at all.
The only other info I have is from the 1911 census but then they were at 29 LAWSON STREET NORTH SHIELDS .
