Is there anyone out there that used to work in BRIGHAMS in the 50s.i used to be a plumber then

My husband Alex worked at Brighams( and many other yards ) during the 60s as a shipwright.

Hi, I worked at Brighams from 1962 to 1967 as an apprentice plumber, the foreman was Hughie Mordane, charghands were Jackie Adams (squeaker) never knew how he got that name and Alfie White. I worked with Alec Downney and his son Mattie, Terry Dunnington, Tommy Slater, Arthur Murray, Jimmy King did all the drilling and threading, My best mate was John Johnston, sadly no longer with us.
I remember making acetylene and oxygen bombs with our polythene sandwich bags and throwing them on the big gas fire, We frightened the life out of Hughie as his office was directly above the fire. I was hoping to find a list of ships visiting Brighams around that time. Just aquired Lloyds register 1967 - 1968 so making a list of the few ships I can remember.

i was there between 50/57 i rememberALFIE,ALEC,JIMMY,ADAMS,HUGHY,also GEORGE HUTCHINSON,JIMMY SMITH,BILL LOUDON,----the ships BARON ELGIN,BARON GEDDES,

I was an Apprentice Fitter at Brighams from 1968 to 1972, mostly happy times there .Like many before, but only a few later, went to sea and I'm still at it!

yes i know him worked at mcnultys for years
used to get in the unionist club on friday nights
did some work at his house
