South Shields Accordian Band

Post by jeff »

I found this old photo the other day in amongst some old family stuff. Does anyone have any recollections of this band, or where might this photo have been taken.

There's nothing wrong with being mediocre........as long as you're good at it!

Can't see any accordions there, they all appear to be concertinas.
Judging by the clothes it must have been taken about 1920 or
earlier.
Wise man talk because they have something to say,
fools talk because they have to say something.

Apart from Sunderland Rd and Westoe Village are there any other places with houses like that?
Belle Vue above the door? I know it was a popular name for houses but it might possibly relate to Belle Vue in Manchester where they held the band competitions.
