i remember when alan fox had his show there with a pie and pea supper at half time i still keep in contact with him, a funny guy when you know him personally.
zip me up in my oilskins and jumper.
no more down the docks i'll be seen.
just tell me old shipmates.
i'm taking a trip mates.
and i'll see them on fiddler' green.

I used to get in there (upstairs) in the late 1950s early 1960s.
You had to get there early as it was always packed.

I was there too, great shows. Also saw Bobby Pattinson and Bobby Thompson there, as well as a Jazz funk band called Final Exit (had Gordon Sumner - aka Sting - on bass)

Remember the Douggie well, but then, you'd know that, montymart!

I had my first illicit drink in the pub at the end of Stephenson Street - Cyprus, wasn't it?
Was 14 at the time. Then we graduated to the Adam & Eve.
The Wild Witch-Wizard of Whiteleas
Was a changeling's son from Mars.
He learnt his songs
From the Cosmic Throngs
And played them on a Fender guitar - Oh yeah.
