Aubrey Rogers (1859-1937)

Post by jeff »

I don't know if this enquiry is too far removed from S Shields to be relevant but its a small world so here goes.
I am seeking information about my great great uncle Aubrey Rogers, who left the North Somerset town of Midsomer Norton in about 1880 travelling via Hunslet and York and eventually settling in West Hartlepool in the late 1890s. He had 3 children, Thomas, Gertrude and Charles. He married Susannah Riley of Golcar in 1883.
I think he only revisited the family home a couple of times before he died in 1937. My mother had only vague recollections of seeing him.
His trade was originally a wheelwright but he has been variously described in Census returns as Wagon Builder and Coach Builder, thus following a family tradition.
Any information about him, his activities in Hartlepool or his family would be very welcome and help to fill another gap in the family history.

Thanks in anticipation

Jeff

Sorry Jeff but Hartlepool is on another planet as far as people from Shields are concerned.
