re beresford arms, yes i remember it well as we did it out in about 1960 (Milton Swales) it was one of only two pubs that did NOT sell spirits as they were only licenced for ales and wines, it was in Denmark st, very near where Rippons builders merchants used to be

I think Catherine House in Catherine Street was the other pub not licensed for spirits. They were known as 'Beer Houses.' Did a lot of my under age drinking there.

was ripons the sports shop not opposite the town hall next door to the brittania inn. sure i used to go there to buy thick lengths of elastic to make catapults when i was a kid.

It was at the bottom of Fowler street but they move to opposite the town hall
