How did these names come about? From the Golden Lion on Boldon Lane/Green Lane towards Stanhope Road

Winskell was the name of a former manager just like the Tyne Dock Hotel was known as Kennedy's. Don't know about the Fad though.

Doesn't Winskells family still run a solicitors office off King Street?

There being two "Fads" always confused me.
I never knew why the name was associated with Boldon Lane, only about the pub in Whiteleas.

Whilst on the topic about the Fad and Winskells ..does anyone know if it is true that the Golden Lion (AKA the Top Hoose) is to become a Curry House ????
