2nd World War child evacuees

Post by Rustic123 » Tue May 16, 2017 12:58 am

I'm tracing my family tree. My mother was apparently evacuated as a child in the 2nd world war from South Shields. Does anyone know where she would have been sent too. Is there a list somewhere of these children?

we went to the lake district, just outside of pooley bridge.
zip me up in my oilskins and jumper.
no more down the docks i'll be seen.
just tell me old shipmates.
i'm taking a trip mates.
and i'll see them on fiddler' green.
