Camels, kangaroos, buffalo, cane toads, goats, foxes, rabbits, cats... the list goes on. I switched on the radio this morning to find yet another feral creature causing problems down under: Canberra is apparently overrun with escaped pet peacocks and causing much scratching of heads as to what should be done with them.

I couldn't help but smile when I heard this and thought back about twenty years to when my sister and her husband bought a weekend retreat in the Yorkshire countryside. "Oh, it is lovely, there are beautiful peacocks wandering about with their babies, They even come and sit on our roof." This has now turned into: "Those bloody peacocks are driving us mad. It is impossible to sleep with all the noise they make - which is worse when they are sitting on your roof!"

Yeah been in a few places where there was a bunch of feral peacocks .... they do make a mess on peoples roofs & verandahs.

They got thinned out when people took a mind to it.

Here in the UK we're a mix of Germanic and Scandinavian stock Anglo Saxons Angles and Saxons are from Germany then we have Norwegians Jutes Celts... Most of Scotland are descended from the Irish when the Picts invaded Scotland in the third century AD they wiped out the indigenous people there or bred with them. So they are not true Scots. Even the Welsh once believed to be descendants from the true British are 95% Beaker people from Northern Spain. Work that one out. My families DNA comes from Scandinavia Germany and Eastern Europe with a smattering of Asian........Yes beware everyone don't upset me. I could be a descendant of ATTILA THE HUN :-)

Yes, feral camels are now sought after for their milk, they call "liquid gold" as it has a lot of therapeutical benefits for us humans.
As for donkeys, their milk is also good, as Cleopatra found out, it has properties that do benefit us....she used to have her servants milk 700 lactating donkeys a day for her 'milk bath' ....
