Aussie Cricketers Caught Cheating
Surely Steve Smith has to be sent home after his agreement and endorsement to cheat.
A sad day for Australian sport.
Just ahead of the Commonwealth Games as well!!!

Re: Aussie Cricketers Caught Cheating
I have no idea what happened (not a cricket follower) but if someone in an international sports competition environment is caught deliberately cheating or planning to cheat then that isn't acceptable. They should be kicked out of that competition.

Re: Aussie Cricketers Caught Cheating
It is all a bit sad really. We would all like to think that sportspeople (must be politically correct)
are all above that sort of thing - and particularly our own. Cheating is something only the Eastern Block get up to..., but there seems to be plenty of evidence of cheating in the West too, and if not outright cheating, then using 'medically allowed' d*ugs that are known to have performance enhancing benefits. The need to come out on top seems to be an irresistible force to some.

Re: Aussie Cricketers Caught Cheating
Well Lehmann quit as coach too .... although they say he knew nothing about it.
I don't believe that .... if he knew nothing why resign?
All very emotional interviews .... but bottom line is they got caught ... that's the problem
and they weren't any good at cheating either.
The severity of the punishments may have shocked them in light of how mild penalties have been in the past.
But that should be message enough for them to realise that more is expected of them from the Australian public & Cricket Australia.
You're getting beaten so you resort to cheating and then get caught easy.... what? You know there are cameras everywhere ... just a dumb move.
OK they're sorry ..... is that for getting caught or because they didn't realise that there would be such a backlash?
Sorry boys .... take the responsibility for your actions & cop the punishment sweet like a real Aussie would do.

Nappies & Politicians should be changed often. Both for the same reason.

Re: Aussie Cricketers Caught Cheating
agree
I always thought there was something not quite right with smith but didn't have him pegged as a cheat
warners just trouble and not surprised he didn't front up the media
I don't think that boof had to walk but it was probably better that he did.
the thing I'm a bit worried about is test cricket is already on the decline and it needs a strong Australia to keep it going
and you know what at the end of the day it's only a bit of sandpaper and a cricket ball
not kids getting molested by the church, not terrorism, not another school shooting
just a bit of sandpaper and a cricket ball
we hold some of these sports people in too high esteem compared to our military, doctors , nurses, ambulance drivers, fire fighters, police officers, community groups, ses etc

Re: Aussie Cricketers Caught Cheating
Film stars & sports stars are paid way out of proportion to their jobs.
It is only a game but then again, at the international level it is tied in with money, lots of money.
If we were talking about 10 year old boys at school, you'd only give them a reprimand, a talk about the virtue of honesty & then just get on with the game, but when there's money involved, there has to be a penalty.
Were they such bad players though? They may have been able to win without cheating.

Yeah we do .... and perhaps those you mention should get paid a little more & the cricketers/sports people a little less?andysfootball wrote: ↑Thu Mar 29, 2018 11:32 pmagree

My mate reckons he's going to a convention for retired shoe repairers today.
Load of old cobblers if you ask me.

That was my thought exactly, seems pedos are not named and shamed (protected lot?) and not accountable to go up in front of media to confess their sins.andysfootball wrote: ↑Thu Mar 29, 2018 11:32 pmagree

But I bet what hurts the cricketers caught out in the bit of sandpaper, is the loss of their millions of income they would have received....I would cry too!!
But their punishment is getting OTT and what is wrong with the media going on and on and on....isn't there other more important things to worry about?
