Wind ups

We got a phone call from our travel company the other day advising us that they are building a new hotel close to the one we go to in Tenerife, they said there was some noise from the building work. We already knew because we keep in touch with the hotels web site. Anyway they offered us a choice of other hotels but we decided to stick to the one we usually visit. Going back on the web, a few people were saying they were offered a £140 reduction for remaining in the hotel rather than change. So being a bit miffed at not getting this offer we phoned the company, they assured us they had not offered anyone a reduction and it turned out to be a hoax, once one person posted they had got this reduction others piled in with even greater reductions winding people up. I guess some people just cant resist a wind up.

Pity it wasn't true, although 140 pound would be a huge reduction.

Where do you stay in Tenerife / Los Christianos or Americas........ Years ago we stayed in Americas at the Conquistador. in JANUARY . I couldn't understand why we were all walking round in t shirts and shorts and all the locals were in Anoraks woolly hats and scarves. 25 Centigrade is too cold for them it's their winter. We were sweltering.

ya got the date for the money system mixed up with the metric system there max, 14th of feb 66 was for money, metric came to the aussie public in the 70's, cant find a date or even exact year for it, but wiki reckons our industries started metric in 68 and the pharmaceutical industry went metric in 65, might have to look at some idiot government site to find a date on metric i spose.

Nah, I'm not letting it worry me. It's nowhere near as much as 200 once it's in kgs. :D
As for fitting in the bath, no need-what does my little dopp think I have an outdoor pool for!?

PS Decimal currency = 14 Feb 1966
Metric measurement introduced 1974

200 lbs is around 90.7 kilo, you'll need a smaller babushka.
