You're lucky. One day of rough seas on the Dawn Princess (and we avoided most of the worst-missed going through the Sounds so we could detour widely around the storm) saw me feeling very poorly. They saved on the meals for me that day-I didn't bother going to the dining room. :?

Weather in NZ should be lovely this time of year. beautiful country, NZ, and very clean.

I wasn't inferring rough seas & "sea legs" ... it was "wobbly boot" legs :P

That is unless you were just drinking half nips in a schooner glass

Really, we're a long way off track.
If you look at this link here and click on the webcam for Sea princess, you'll see where Andy is-well, where he would be if he stood near the front of the ship.

Lucky devil is about to head into Fiordland which is exactly the bit I missed. If you get a chance, click on it over the next 24 hours & if we strike it when it's in Fiordland, we'll be in for a treat.
I have been through there but on a smaller ferry type ship.
Andy thinks he has got rid of us but we can be with him all the way. :D

Passing through right now by the looks of it. Little bit damp/overcast as it often is there, adds to the atmosphere, although we struck a rare sunny day when we were there. I just wish the webcams were continuous & not just a still picture updated every 5 minutes.

How many other fiords did you enter?

didn't last long by the sound of it.

3 altogether

lasted from about 8.30 am to 3.30 pm

waterfalls, granite cliffs and trees

once you've seen milford sound you've seen the lot really

apparently there's an abundance of wildlife of which i saw none

apart from fellow cruisers

I see he's in Dunedin today. Wonder if he has any tours organised there. From memory there was a brewery tour or Cadbury tour amongst the options.

Enjoying following the web cam views (he's in Wellington) but I'm noticing that the weather is a bit drizzly. Might fine up a lot as they head north.

Welcome home, Andy. I see from the webcam your ship is back in Brisbane & it's a lovely sunny day.
Look forward to hearing about some of your adventures.
