When I go to Whitby next.

I will stand on cliff top and look out over the North sea.

I will only mutter.. What a lovely view of the horizon.

Folk would think i'm barmy '' Well more barmy than usual '' if I said it out loud like.

I once saw an outstanding fantastic view, but that's another story.

It was seen in the fast lane, nothing lumbering about me.

Ok. There is life but not as we know it in Australia.

Watched a programme a while back about the Eastern part of Australia.

A part I remember where no trees grow. Some desert/plain or other.

These folk stopped at some view point and said, what a lovely view.

Lovely view

All one saw was a vast empty landscape.

Mind, perfect place to build a canal. No locks required.
No landscape is empty

but obviously there is an empty space between your ears.

The eastern part of Australia doesn't have a space where no trees grow.

The desert areas(which still have some types of trees/shrubs & the large barren salt pans are in central Australia.

Our largest Plain which is classed as treeless ..... the Nullabor ( latin - Null/No arbor/tree) Plain which stretches from Sth Australia into Western Australia ... some 1675 klm long still has areas with some trees and the rest is covered in low Salt Bush & Blue Bush.
Bloody hell a geography lesson #-o

All that was shown was scrub land and desert from the view point.

If I got direction wrong then so be it.

They was headed towards a place called Warburton.

Either way, it was rather funny that the OZ folk thought it was a nice view.

They obviously don't get out much.
Warburton is near the Gibson Desert in central Western Australia.
Warburton or Warburton Ranges is an Indigenous Australian community in Western Australia, just to the south of the Gibson Desert and located on the Great Central Road and Gun Barrel Highway. At the 2011 census, Warburton had a population of 474.
The Gun Barrel Highway is a very popular 4 wheel drive adventurers trek.

And obviously you've never watched a decent documentary .e.g. David Attenborough showing the different types of areas classed as deserts & what scenery & different wildlife can be found in them all.

Too much time spent in your bedsit & taking the short drive to the local pub for canned lobster lunches.

Sometimes Whip you ought take full advantage of the capabilities of your computer & research some of the stuff you babble BS about.

I watched a programme last night about Broadmoor.

'' Broadmoor Hospital is a high-security pychiatric hospital at Crowthorne in the Borough of Bracknell Forest in Berkshire, England. It is the best known of the three high-security psychiatric hospitals in England, the other two being Ashworth and Rampton. The hospital was built in 1863 to a design by Sir Joshua Jebb, and covers 210,000 square metres (53 acres) within its secure perimeter '
There ya go Gnads and not a can of lobster in sight.

Back to the programme.

They are all freaking mental in there.

i'm guessing some got deported to Australia as they was beyond medical help for sure.

Got married into the local communities.

Lets face it, just read some of the mental posts from aussie folk on here.

i'm also guessing one escaped and found his way to the NE of England.

Married some lass from South Shields and hey presto, we have nutters from there posting on here.

Transportation came to an end in Eastern Australia in the 1840s-1850s although some went to WA till the 1860s.

watched an interesting programme on t.v. last night about the history of the australian islands. martin clunes narrating it, amazed at many thousands there are. one island has it's own language a mixture of old english, west indian, as in jamaican, and south sea tahitian dialects. iam not to sure but it may have been lord howe or norfolk island where the bounty mutineers inhabited, looking forward to the next episode.
zip me up in my oilskins and jumper.
no more down the docks i'll be seen.
just tell me old shipmates.
i'm taking a trip mates.
and i'll see them on fiddler' green.

It was Norfolk Island .... it was resettled with people from Pitcairn Island .... Bounty Mutineer Descendants.
On 8 June 1856, the next settlement began on Norfolk Island. These were the descendants of Tahitians and the HMS Bounty mutineers, including those of Fletcher Christian. They resettled from the Pitcairn Islands, which had become too small for their growing population. On 3 May 1856, 193 persons left Pitcairn Islands aboard Morayshire.[17] On 8 June, 194[18] persons arrived, a baby having been born in transit. The Pitcairners occupied many of the buildings remaining from the penal settlements, and gradually established traditional farming and whaling industries on the island. Although some families decided to return to Pitcairn in 1858 and 1863, the island's population continued to grow. They accepted additional settlers, who often arrived with whaling fleets.

Islanders speak both English and a creole language known as Norfuk, a blend of 18th-century English and Tahitian.
