Post by siam sam » Fri Feb 28, 2014 2:36 pm

i thought that there would have been some shots of them. mind you i myself didn't realise they would appear, last time i saw them was in canada over the gaspe peninsula a sight to experience. never been seen before over tyneside, i will be looking out tonight to see if they visit us again tonight. did anyone see last nights spectacular?
zip me up in my oilskins and jumper.
no more down the docks i'll be seen.
just tell me old shipmates.
i'm taking a trip mates.
and i'll see them on fiddler' green.

No but have seen the southern lights when I was a boy.
I had never heard of them until I described what I had seen. Awe inspiring
from what I could gather that was the furtherest north they have ever been seen.

There have been some very impressive photos appearing on social network sites. The lights have been seen as far south as Essex and Gloucestershire. There has been some TV signal interference near me, such as brief 'freezing and the screen 'pixilating' and I suspect this may have something to with solar interference with the magnetic field.

We saw the Northern lights a few years ago.
We was at Oban in Scotland at the time.
They never fail to impress.
