January Photo Comp

Post by Rosie » Tue Jan 07, 2014 8:33 pm

It's very hard to think of something different :(

It sounds rather boring but how about a picture of a tree or a bunch of trees

Here's one I took when I was in Switzerland

That's an amazing, spreading tree. What sort of tree is it?

Congratulations on your win Rosie, I also liked your photos very much 8)
And what an awesome topic for January's theme.
I am putting in a couple of pics for now, with tree tops or part of, or silhouettes of trees against a skyscape etc.

Behind the funny Swiss tree there is a pruned plane tree starting to come into leaf.

Many thanks Sherri.

The first photo is one I took through the window of the train coming back
from Wellington last year. It really appealed to me and got the photo just
in time as the train was travelling quite fast.

On having a good look at the photo taken from the train. I think it may have been hit by
lightning at some stage of its life. What think ye my good friends.

The second photo was outside the entrance to where I live. I loved the moss
lichen that covered its branches. Its now gone chopped down by the owner. peasant.

The third photo same tree but in Winter and both trees are now gone.

The last photo a green tree frog posing for its photo on a palm tree of some type,

Thanks Sherri. I find all trees fascinating (perhaps I'm a bit wooden!) Although the majority of trees we saw in Oz were of the gum tree type there were many others worth recording. I also like the predominance of blue skies and sunshine which seem to abound in my piccies from Oz, reminds me of the nice hot sunny weather to set against the awful weather we are having over here at the moment.
However this one is one of the gum family, taken at Wentworth Falls NSW.

Lovely photo StottieCake.

But if I saw that outside my window I would go back to bed.

We were in Key westjust before Xmas. Great place to visit by the way. While wandering around we came across this fascinating tree with its huge protruding roots, have to say they didn’t half reminded me of the protruding Inner labia of a former girlfriend. :D
