this place is spooky

Post by freon » Sun May 06, 2012 2:41 pm

A place hidden in the hills outside Adelaide River is an old munitions factory from WW2
I havent been here for more than ten years as i thought the access had been cut off when they
built the Alice springs to Darwin rail way.Was down that way today and did a bit of bush bashing
and found my way in. It is King Brown country and i was only dressed in thongs and shorts so didnt stray
to far from the car so the photos are limited but have since google earthed it and there is lots more to explore
so i will return

these are the old factory walls solid concrete 2 feet thick

the little railway line that ran between the buildings

What a fascinating place to go take a look at. I don't blame you not straying too far from the car

Very isolated spot. Interesting though.

I'd find this a fascinating place to rummage around in.

Freon 20 years ago us Railways blokes were still sleeping in crappy beds
like those when we were away staying in quarters.

Nothing but the best for us like.

Very interesting place Freon.
Those beds look similar to the ones we had in our shearers quarters

You could have photographed a few King browns to show what a decent snake looks like and maybe a few taipans and even an inland taipan for good measure.
