Westoe

Post by curly »

Westoe Rugby Club travel down to Twickenham on Saturday 16th April to face Morley, of Leeds, in the Powergen Intermediate Cup Final. Westoe Rugby Club is the first sporting team from South Shields to reach a national cup final, let's give them all the support they deserve!

You can send your best wishes to the team to Kevin at this address; kbne12520@blueyonder.co.uk and he will be only too willing to pass them on to the lads. Let's wish Jeb, Richard, and all the lads the very best of luck, and hope they bring that cup back to South Shields :D

Not content with winning a place in the Final at Twickenham, the proud lads of Westoe Rugby Club have also won the title and promotion from thePowergen North Two (East) Division after crushing Alnwick 58 - 0 on Saturday.

I am greatly indebted to Phil Haswell for providing these pictures of Jeb Shabilla and the lads celebrating their title win.

Hell yes :)
Especially if they stuffed Alnwick, anyone deserves respect for stuffing those eejits. Mind you, I much prefer playing Wallsend at my club
Hello, I love you won't you tell me your name?

Unfortunately Westoe will not be bringing the cup home to South Shields, they were narrowly beaten 21 - 11 by Morley.

Match report

They are still South Shields sporting heroes for representing the town so proudly!
