I started at Horsley Hill that year after doing my two years at Thornholme in Mrs Diamonds class.Happy days then, I think our mothers took us to school for the first couple of days then we just came and went by ourselves.A bit different from today when the little dears are dropped off by car at the school gates and picked up again in the afternoon. No wonder the kids today are so soft.

Yes same for me I can only remember my Mother taking me the first morning after than we all went in a group, the older children looking out for us new starters the real old ones would be nearly seven    it was a canny walk from Grotto Road for a 5 year old and two main roads to cross. But we were tough in those days :D :D :D not soft like Mr A's age group :D :D :D :D oh me sides are hurting.

More like Spring than Summer blue, taken in May.
We usually have our Summer on the 4th of August.
Wise man talk because they have something to say,
fools talk because they have to say something.
