Dead serious question here - Ashley reckons he's going to cap wages at £15000 per week!
How many Premiership quality players will that leave Newcastle with?

Next question - do you think that Ashley will stick with Hughten and Calderwood?

Sunderland have struggled as a team for as long as I can remember, look at the record between the clubs for wins and we all know who comes out top and always will. Look at the size of the crowds too throughout the season at newcastle and compare them to what sunderland used to get when they were in the championship or even now for that matter, they come second everytime. I must admit though that they seem a much more stable club under Nial Quin to what they have done in the past and good luck to them. I do prefer the toon but I like to see all the north east clubs do well and as far as derbys go toon v the mackems is up there with the best of them so bring on the new season. :D 1 last thing ASHLEY OUT.

Watching the game last night my thoughts as a neutral are that they couldn't beat any team in the prem. league and unless there is HUGE investment in the team they will come straight back down .Sunderland are much better run and that fat barrel of lard Ashley will probably put the club up for sale AGAIN now they are back in the premiership.Maybe a new owner will get rid of Barton and Caroll, the pair of them should never be allowed to pull on a black and white shirt.

For those of you who think Sunderland always come second to Newcastle I suggest you have a look here:

ha ha take a 2nd look at the stats, sunderland has played a lot more games than newcastle, so your bound to have more points, and as most of your games were played in the fizzy pop league (the one we have just escaped from) the stats are pointless as most of our games were played in the top flight, not on grounds where they have sheep to mow the pitch

There should be no sentimentality in football so Newcastle should ditch the present manager and bring in some one with a tried and tested managerial career. That's right Shearer.

His record in the Premiership as a manager is; played 8, won 1 drew 2 lost 5 got relegated.

This would then save us from having to listen to him agreeing with Alan Hansen on MOTD.
