Chinese New Year

Post by curly » Thu Feb 18, 2010 10:53 pm

Did anyone join in the celebrations?

I took the kids to Newcastle and they loved it, went into the North East Chinese Association (a community centre in Stowell Street) and we had a huge massive helping of noodles with ham, onions, bean sprouts, and bamboo shoots for only £2 a shot. Followed it down with apple spring rolls for desert, five for a £1. Great value when everyone else was queuing for £9 buffets.

It was pretty crowded mind (sneak preview picture, it goes in the blog next week)

Got loads of canny shots.

Probably better to call it a picture, rather than a photo.

Busy working on the last ten pictures now, some real crackers of the lion dances, had to get on the floor and poke my camera between a bloke's legs to get one shot complete with the lettuce!

Excellent picture. How do you get that effect onto a normal photo?
Do you just press a button in a program to change it, or is it more complicated?

Cannot say just yet Sherri, lots of processing in Photoshop, plenty of pictures in colour and black and white to appear in my photoblog next week, some real good examples of this comic book effect. Will tell more after they have been seen.
They were time taking to process but I'm very happy with them, the black and white ones (to me) look better than the colour varieties.

Crikey, there were 818 images published on AM3 yesterday, and this one was chosen as the Spotlight image of the day (the editor's pick). I feel privileged that's three or four over the past few months.

I am not surprised it was chosen, Curly.
It is an exceptionally good picture.
