It's simply amazing that after 23 posts, not one person even attempted to answer your question(s).

For those of you who forgot, or have reading comprehension problems, her question was...
kat wrote:I would be very grateful if anyone can advise me of any clubs, groups etc., to meet new friends!(I'm open for suggestion to meet nice friendly people).
Also because I've quit my job in Manchester I'm hoping to do a part time job in admin/retail/healthcare. Also I would be very grateful for any voluntary organisations in the area as well.

Thank you so much!
I would have thought that someone would have at least suggested that you come to the next Sanddancers gathering so you could meet some of the people on the board.

Come on guys, and gals, does no one know of any clubs to meet people in this area, or any volunteer organizations where Kat could donate some of her time to help others?

Well, you certainly can meet people there, but I'm not sure that the "significant other" would think that was a good idea.

Welcome, Kat! Good luck with your move and finding work and things to do.
I live in the States so can't help too much with your requests, but I think
you'll find info for lots of social activities, good pubs, maybe even job leads
and so forth just by viewing the threads.

Many of our boardies are very active in charitable work, so you might find
some volunteer opportunities that strike your fancy. I wish I could be more
helpful, but I trust others will lend a hand as time goes on. Oh, and once
they're all satisfied that you're not a reincarnation of some long lost boardie.

:D
