When do you get this instruction?
When browsing?
Do you use Internet Explorer?
Do you see it when using any of your applications?

Vbs search is spyware/malware, which often cannot be detected by Ad-Aware 6.0 personal, it is a browser hijacker which buries itself in the registry. Try downloading Hijackthis (freeware) from the next link

http://www.spychecker.com/download/down ... kthis.html

then go to this link for advice on how to clean out this nasty piece of malware.

Microsoft Antispyware

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/securit ... fault.mspx

If your using Giant Antispyware just keep using that as this is the same thing, becuase microsoft bought them out. Its a good bit of software this aswell (well the Giant version was) finds alot of stuff

Hello! There is some great advice for getting rid of virus' and bloody adware.

I have a 'program' that tries to access the internet each time I connect. I run Avg (Free) virus/adware protection, Zone alarm for a firewall etc.

The name of the program is 'CRSRECO.EXE' None of the adware searches pick it up, even a file search for the 'exe' file turn up nothing. It doesn't seem to affect my pc's performance, but when I 'deny' it access to the internet, it hangs my system and won't let it shutdown. Meaning restart, scandisk etc etc. Bloody nuisance!

Any advice for getting rid of this problem will be greatly appreciated. :D

hi sounds like some sort of browser hijacker to throw popups at you etc, if you know your way around system processes you could try http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html

then look for that file and remove it, this will no longer let the exe run

Hi Samara,
you don't mention what methods you have tried to remove this malware with.
I recommend having a good look through the Major Geeks tutorials. I use Lavasoft Personal SE, but you must remember to update it's definitions file on a weekly basis, along with that I also use Miocrosofts spyware and malware removal tool, finally get a copy of Javacool Software's Spywareblaster, again you will need to get regular updates for the definitions file. Once your pc is cleaned up Spywareblaster will prevent most spyware, malware, trojans, active X controls, and hijackers from ever infecting you again.

Start by going through ALL of the processes described in the major Geeks tutorial.

Hi Curly, sorry for the extended delay. Problem solved. Puter decided one day to contact microsoft updates site, and downloaded 24 critical updates/security patches etc. This solved the problem for about a week. Last Saturday night for some reason, problems started again. I had had a couple of whiskey's by this stage, so my patience was running thin. Fdisk, reformat HDD. I had most things backed up, so didn't lose much more than my avatar wardrobe.
I just want to say thank you for providing the links to resources, which I have now loaded on to my system before I have accessed the internet. Hopefully, this will keep my system reasonably clean of nasties. :D
