Covid 19. Important Message.

Post by andysfootball » Thu Mar 26, 2020 4:35 pm

Saying most of you are in the elderly bracket I thought I would check in with you to see if you are ok.

In the meantime everyone has been moved to evens in " Board Members Carking it Latest Odds".

I'm sure you will understand and please sanitise your hands and keyboard before responding.

I hate to break it to you, andy, but you're too late.
Only the hardiest of us on here have survived.
I think the rest of them have already carked it.

Actually we thought you had succumbed too for a while. How are your toilet paper supplies? :D All set for a long stay in?

Hello Sherri and Andy.

I'm still alive and kicking and intend to stay that way.

I haven't left home for over two weeks now and don't intend to until all this is over. I get my groceries home delivered and anything else I need (which is very little) my son gets for me.

A bit over two years ago I was in hospital with pneumonia and flu A and B. I don't remember much about it but I know I don't want to go through that again.

Today our premier has decided in her wisdom that Queensland council elections will go ahead. I tried to phone my vote but as I'm not disabled or blind or deaf etc that was a no go so I will most likely get a fine of $133. I'm trying to work out a way to pay this fine with $10 notes in an envelope addressed directly to her and marked personal.

Andy, Charlie boy and Boris have both got it what's the odds on Donald being next?

Face book are reporting profiteering small p shops naming and letting people know and naming and shaming the shops. For them selling things at greatly increased prices.

Beachbum is stuck in Panama with no idea when the planes will be flying again.
Considering Florida next winter so we can just drive home if something else happens.

They bring in new rules almost daily.
The new one starting in a couple of days is a doozy .
Everyone has a two hour window for only grocery shopping and medical appointments.
The hours you can go out corresponds to the last number on your identity card or in our case, passports.
If your last number is say five, you can be out from 4 to 6 pm.
A further restriction is that only women are allowed to be out on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and only men are allowed to be out on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Nobody is allowed to be out on Sunday.

If you can't provide those numbers they might accept you if you bend over and show your date.

Could be interesting to do comparisons. We all come from different places, we could say what the regulations are at the moment in each of our areas.
Beachbum is further along the track than we are here at the moment.

Hello from London - just reporting in as I have been quiet lately. Even in the gloomiest of times one sometimes can still get a laugh. Phoning an old friend today (she will be 103 on the 31st of July) she told me that she had a call from her doctors surgery today: "Hello Mrs M****, We have been asked to call all of our patients aged 90 and over. We have to ask a number of questions and I apologise in advance if they upset you. If you get the Coronavirus and fall into a coma, do you want to be assassinated?" I fought not to choke on my tea at hearing that. She said, I thought it might be some sort of scam... I asked her if she had perhaps been asked if she wanted to be resuscitated? She agreed it might well have been that. :D

I take it that these calls are being made after the subject came up on TV, which was that in the event of there not being enough ventilators, Doctors may have to decide whether priority should be given to the young with a better chance of survival. It all sounds very clinical and reasonable when you are youngish and not ill. This feisty old lady replied: "Having got to nearly 103, I don't want you trying to help me into my box. I love life and I don't want to d*e!" As I said, the theory about priority is fine when you are young and not under threat. Even at sinking of the Titanic, not everyone quietly accepted the 'women and children in the boats first' decision. :D
