You's must have been a right bad lot, I never got the cane of him, nor did I ever
see him cane anyone else.

I got the cane off him for having bad handwriting.
I said "Caning my hand is going to make it worse."
You should have seen his face when I told him I'd got a job in the Civil Service.
"But your handwritings terrible." He said.
He was a big sniffing bully.
