I have met 3 people through messageboards. They were danet, bluekats and robroy-all nice people to meet up with and share a coffee with etc
I wouldn't hesitate to meet most people if I had the chance, but where I live I am a fair way away from most of the other aussie boardies let alone a fair hike from any of the English people
One day i may surprise you though and turn up at one of the SD board meetings. Wonder if you would guess who it was? probably guess it was some aussie or other though the minute I opened my mouth.
The ones I have met are the only ones from the same state where I live, hence how we were able to get together.
Even then, Blue lives about a 9 hour (or 4 hour if you go inland) drive away from the city, so a few of us met up once when he was down in town.

The only person i have met is Curly, mind you it took him long enough to suss out who i was.

There was a poster with the name Average Len whom was an acquaintance. I used to bump into him in the libraries and internet cafes. It was him who sort of introduced me to this site, said it was interesting.
Haven't seen him for a while now; maybe he's moved or something.

If you want to meet quality people, go to the Ship Inn on Friday night, even Mr A is worth meeting. I'm distraught because I cant get there.

So, how do these meets take place? Does everyone drink in The Ship as has been mentioned? I think I would remember Baldy as I've seen his pic (especially if he has the mohican!). I wouldn't know anyone otherwise. I'll probably get to meet JimmyWizz one day as he is a friend of a friend of mine (he's a bit of a computer expert, Jimmy, and a twin

hhmm got me thinking now para, as for the meet, this is the first one in the ship and its this friday upstairs, come a long even if its only for a few pints

Sorry Jimmy, don't think I'll be able to this Friday as I have my once a month get-together this Friday which I have to attend. Any other Friday, I would have done. Maybe the next one....
