more nostalgia band thing.
does anyone here remember a local band called The Showbiz Kids? from around the same time as upstarts i think. (70's)? They were on the tv a couple of times, a show called Revolver also some ATV tyne tees show I forgot the name of.
I remember the showbiz kids well, my cousin was the lead singer an incredible showman.
They were the biggest band in Sunderland at the time, always sold out the Locarno. He went on to form Well Well Well (still have the records).
He then put together a rythm & blues band called the Aligators who were a great band and also huge in Sunderland, they also packed the fish quay festival when they played there.
He was then asked to join the New Animals by Hylton Valentine and toured the world with them.
He is now singing with Dr. Feelgood and has been for quite a few years now. Robert Plant seen them at the Marquee in London and said it was the best thing they had ever done getting him as lead singer.
