I remember it well, married at the mosque as well. The photograph also illustrates that today's heavyweights are a lot heavier than Ali's 15 1/2 stones!

great times, it was facinating because he was such a hero to all young kids especially teenagers who were captivated by the heavyweight boxing at that time, much more so than today were the popularity is no where like it was. Pretty good role model also not like tyson et al, pity Lennox didn't get the same prominence

thanks curly, the funny thing was i neve saw him in shields, but i was sitting on the grass at the green at newcastle having a pint when this limo pulled up and out stepped ali out of the blue, you should have seen the look on peoples faces
