fat balls: "that must be exciting, something like watching paint dry."
Like watching paint dry! Do you know, I've only heard that expression three thousand four hundred and fifty seven times! Gee, but you're original!!

Australia: spiders, snakes, scorpions, toads, wasps, lizards, dingoes, sharks, jellyfish, ants, termites, crocodiles, the list goes on.......

Hey, len, I just noticed the bit under your your post. "Australia-spiders, snakes, scorpions, toads" and the list goes on.
That is exactly right, lad. You have to be TOUGH to make it over here. Rugged. Able to tackle anything. When I think of those killer trolleys in the supermarket, for example, I just know that it takes a special breed of person to survive over here.

Ants!! You were right about the ants. Forget the sharks, but god I hate the little black ants in my kitchen. Reign of terror is descending on them as I *write*

Well below average len what else is there to do in pomy land? except for waiting for your welfare cheque, what a miserable exisitance, what you lot need is a bit of motivation, first I'd get liz and big ears charlie off their fat bums and get em out to work, a decent days work wouldn't hurt them and that would set a example.

Getting politicians to earn an honest day's work? What are you guys ON??
What a bunch of optimists.
They are the same the world over, but we have a really prize one here. Based in Tasmania, one of the states here, he just recently walked away with a payout of over $650,000, yet it turns out that taxpayers paid for his wedding reception a few months back. The food cost $10,000.
Although this guy was earning a thousand dollars a day in his job, he has been allowed to pay the food costs back in installments, over time.
I think you sanddancers would feel quite at home in oz really. Same types of politicians and if you come far enough south, same type of weather. LOL

Sherri: You say, "You have to be TOUGH to make it over here. Rugged. Able to tackle anything".
I thoroughly agree; I'm always astonished by Australians. Huge, barrell-chested, muscles like steel cords, legs like tree trunks, rough, tough and ready to drink or brawl anyone under the table, the stubble on the chin a testament to a hard-living, no hold barred life life.
And the men are quite impressive, too.....
