It's my mothers birthday at end of Nov and she'll be the ripe old age of 90.

We've decided that a night time party will be too much for her, so we think ( as it will be a Sunday ) that we should have a
Sunday Lunch and afternoon session.

Trouble is, I've lost touch with all the good places in Shields.

Can anyone suggest a pub that we can book a room for ourselves and get a decent Sunday scran ?

You will probably have bother booking a room for the day
If pubs do Sunday Lunch, they probably wont want a room taken up all day

But the Trimmers Arms does a nice sunday lunch, and they may let you have their back room cos they do meals in the bar as well

Hope she has a good one m8

The New Ship has a decent menu, but I doubt it would gave a room over to one party on a day they make money on their meals, best of luck and have a good day.

You were right about getting rooms on a Sunday.

Cheers Derek.

It seems it was going to be about £14 a head, so we are looking for alternatives.

Anyone know what The Sanddancer is like for Sundays, we can book some tables in advance seemingly..

The Ship & Royal do really nice food, and you can book the Assembly (the room upstairs) for a small deposit. We went to a during the day do there last week and it was ace :-) If you go in ask to speak to Gayle Henderson.

The food critic from the Sunday Sun (Eddie Eats) done a report about 3 weeks ago on the sandancer and didnt have much nice to say about it

We were at the Kelly in Hebburn a few weeks ago, and if you can get there, you wont be sorry
It was really nice
A nice room as well

Had a Sunday Lunch at the Grey Hen recently, and although the meal was lovely and service excellent
I was still hungry after eating it
Thats not good
They use small plates

I guess you can tell me and the beast dine out regular :D
Its either that or face a bush tucker trial of her cooking

You were right Jen, we all had a nice lunch there with mum on her birthday today.

Small world, seems my nieces son, Brad Atwill knows your drummer.

Brad did this video with some of his mates for, a woman of no importance, don't know if you've heard of them.
