The building up against station bank was I believe a former bond warehouse, many floors and lots
of floor space.. I used to go to a boys gym club there called "The Hindley Club" about 1950/52.

yes, the British Union School was just inside the Coal yard entrance. I'll see what I can come up with,
St Hilda's School was on the corner of Oyston Street.

Grieves it's self was taken over by Westoe Breweries who were taken over by Hammonds in 1960,
went into liquidation and stopped brewing in 1960.

There was a lot of bomb damage done to King George Road and the surrounding area during a raid 9th April 1941.

Never heard of a St George Road. We have a King George Road, Cleadon.
