Re: More techy help needed

I'm on XP and have similar problems. Often while typing a character, instead of what I want going into the field, a draw down menu appears from the top. I also get the same problem with a and @. (When I typed that last @. It came up but also a new browser came up!) :? To resolve the "a" & "@" proble...

Re: A Sad Day

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I'm OK really, though cant stop the memories of him poping into my head. I'm more sad/angry for ciril and the terrible waste. Going back to the old town (Brantome) was a sad day all round. Our other friends fare little better. Cirils partrner has left town, shunne...

Re: A Sad Day

Thats true betty. My feelings go from sorrow to anger. I'm quite annoyed at him for doing it. And cant get him out of my mind. He is the first friend to d*e. And how it happened only makes it worse. If only he knew he had a lot to live for. I want to swear at him right now! :(

A Sad Day

Some of you may remember I moved home last year. From the Dordogne to the Charente? We had some business yesterday that took us close to our old town, so we decided to pop in and look up old friends. We met a wealthy old queen we knew there, who owned a chateau and he gave me some very sad news. Las...

Thanks Anna. You have to laugh, or else you'd cry! I'm not too worried about my situation. My life has always been the same. Like a roller coaster. But i chose the life, so I cant complain. #-o Many of the ex-pat Brits are worried here at the moment. The french government are confiscating peop...

Re: This is frightening

A few years ago, I went to Germany (from France) to buy a camping car (motorhome). I had to make an appointment with my bank, to beg them to give me the money I wanted to take with me, in cash. They lectured me and asked if I was sure I wanted to withdraw this money. When I would not give in, they g...

I was so sure I was going to win this weeks Euromillions, which was €130,000,000. We bought 4 tickets. I was going to give at least! 30 million to animal charities. Sadly, for Batersea dogs home and others, I did not win. :(

Re: Northern Rock Building Society

Its a storm in a teacup, Pilot. They asked the Bank Of England for money and everyone panicked and sold their shares. So they dropped 31%. I would go out and buy all the - now cheap shares you can afford. When the dust settles, they will go back to at least! their original value. A good way to get a...

Working on the river  Tony Blair made sure no one would work on the river again.  Do any of the Socialist leeches "beg to differ"? Yes, I do! :) Socialists try to keep jobs by subsidies (coal minning, shipbuilding etc). Capitalists go where they get cheap labour to increase ...

Re: how the irish deal with there dealers

On the news tonight. Afghanistan is now the worlds largest opium producing nation. Production has increased every year since we invaded it! Makes you wonder who the government are getting tough on? Or do they REALLY want to get rid of d*ugs? Or just a few small time pushers who do it to supply their...

Re: how the irish deal with there dealers

I agree with the police. "no place in civilised society for people taking the law into their own hands resulting in such a brutal and barbaric attack". I can understand people wanting to do that, I feel like doing it myself sometimes. But civilised people do not do this sort of thing. Those that do,...
