Re: Kindness and Understanding

I have expressed my opinion on religion often on here, but I have always respected those who have religious faith whatever branch of religion they follow, Ralph is right when he says people have always explained the unexplained by referring them as an act of god or gods but my hope is, that as educa...

Re: Kindness and Understanding

I suspect a lot of what Niagraa writes is under the influence of drink or d*ugs, but to make a post inciting violence against anyone let alone a leading politician is a step too far in my opinion, there are a lot of nutters out there and not all are keyboard warriors like Niagraa some might be embol...

Re: Kindness and Understanding

I was chatting to a guy recently and Sandancers site came up and he said he was surprised I was a member of a racist site, reading your drivel over and over I can see why people logging in to Sandancers would think its turned into a site for race hate. These days I dont comment as much as I used to ...

Re: Merry Christmas

I thought Xmas was to celebrate the birth of Christ, the date of which is disputed, if such a person existed in the first place, many factions of Christianity think the date is around the 6th or 7th January, but it was convenient to take over the celebration of mid winter. What Santa and Lapland hav...

Re: Dislike Snow.

I not an engineer, but in the case of the coastal mines we had around here they flood with sea water as soon as they switched off the pumps, which had to be running 24 hours a day all year round, they flooded, with north sea oil maybe the same. I expect oil taken from land based oilfield will be sub...

Re: Dislike Snow.

I'm not so sure, we are turning fossil fuels from solids and liquids trapped underground into gasses released to the atmosphere this must have an effect I think its just the level of effect that is in question.

Re: Merry Christmas

I love Xmas time, young children so excited about Santa coming, older ones pretending to believe just to make sure they get lots of gifts, eat, drink and be merry, love it all, but I cant pretend to believe in a religion for one day of the year, I honestly just cant believe how in the 21st ce...

Re: Merry Christmas

Re: whinging poms

Has there been a test series ? I'm not really a follower of cricket, but well done the Aussies, England were a sorry mess from what I hear on the news. They even left their best player out of the squad for fighting after a night out, I think they could do with a few fighters in the team.

Re: The World has gone mad

 I watched a program some years ago about a farmer who brought up his livestock like family pets, they were hand fed and there was a lot of interaction with the farmer and his family and kids, very nice until he said .......and we get premium price at slaughter because the meat is so much bet...

The World has gone mad

A woman from our region is complaining that the fairy story, Sleeping Beauty, is corrupting her 6 year old son in making him believe making sexual advances towards a sleeping woman (the kiss that awakens her) is OK. SHE WANTS THE FAIRY STORY BANNED. Then on our local news this lunchtime, they have s...

Re: Johnathon Pie

I guess i'm old fashioned and think marriage is something between a man and a woman, I have met quite a few gay people over the years and like everyone else most are OK, but I think they should have stopped at civil partnership, which gave them certain rights which was a good thing, but once you giv...

Yes its accurate it dates back to the days when dozens of ships when back and forth from the North East ports loaded with coal for the power stations of London and the south east of England. Sadly no more.
