Re: Working on the river or at sea
Working on the river  Tony Blair made sure no one would work on the river again.  Do any of the Socialist leeches "beg to differ"? Yes, I do! :) Socialists try to keep jobs by subsidies (coal minning, shipbuilding etc). Capitalists go where they get cheap labour to...

Re: how the irish deal with there dealers
On the news tonight. Afghanistan is now the worlds largest opium producing nation. Production has increased every year since we invaded it! Makes you wonder who the government are getting tough on? Or do they REALLY want to get rid of d*ugs? Or just a few small time pushers who do it to supply their...

Re: how the irish deal with there dealers
I agree with the police. "no place in civilised society for people taking the law into their own hands resulting in such a brutal and barbaric attack". I can understand people wanting to do that, I feel like doing it myself sometimes. But civilised people do not do this sort of thing. Thos...

Re: Highway Code Question
Not long before I left The UK. I was driving a truck for Argos in North Shields. I got my eye on a young Rotweiller which looked like mine. As I was looking, it ran out into the path of my truck and I hit it! #-o It made one hell of a bang! I got out of the new truck fearing the worst. The lady owne...

Re: testo's roundabout
Was at Testo's about 7pm and no sign of anything, all done and dusted. Weird though, I get local traffic reports every 10 mins on car radio + Sally Traffic, and I never heard about this. It depends on if you were at TESCO or TESTO's CJ. I now get the two names mixed up and I started work at ...

Re: Secret South Shields
I think I remember those houses in the photo, Pilot. If I'm right, you came down New road from Boldon and turned left at the bottom. After a hundred yards or so, there was the old railway crossing and that is where these houses are on the left?

I'm afraid it's the same here, Pilot. Though luckily, it has not reached the smaller towns and villages yet! I had a mate in the Uk who loved France. He was stabbed in the Paris metro for no reason. The 2 who did it ran away laughing. They were arabs. Most of the Paris petty crime is done by the eas...

Re: hughe robson bakery.
Used to travel on the no62 northern bus from Boldon Colliery to South Shields at 6.30am 6 days a week. Remember the Northern 62 Esh Winning bus. When I did my pit training in 1961 at Dame Margaret's Hall Washington used to get it every morning from Mile End Road for 13 weeks. It used to take ...
