Cleadon Hills, Marsden Quarry, the ponds and old railway tack at the limestone quarry in Marsden and of course Marsden beach especially the velvet beds. Its good to see the pictures of greencrft and consett, i live in a village not to far away and the old timers still talk about 47 and 63 how they were cut off for up to 6 weeks for other than some special trucks that could get through with supplies,

my mum was a seamstress at prices factory at western approach, she was a fantastic craftswomen, the directors used to ask for her to make their clothing even when it was run by the major company based in leeds

My aunt who lived in the old family home on thornton avenue until she dies used to work in Benny Balls butcher shop in the 60's, i believe it was the second or third shop down from the top of the bank, the first being a grocer which was run by a very scary fella.

There is an iconic film called Sea Coal made by the tyneside studio Amber Films, its a bout the community near Lynemouth Colliery who collected sea coal as a living, many call them travelers (gypsies) but i don't think they were although they lived in caravans and had horses http://www.amber-online....
