How was the coal delivered to the powerstation.? There were railway lines running to it which linked it with St Hilda and Westoe Collieries, and there was a coal depot right next door to it as well fed by the same source. I had to look at an old map to confirm it and it clearly shows the railway se...

My uncle,George Lynn used to work for Hanlons as a manager and they were taken over by Moores. My gran lived on Dean tce.I can remember one of the Indian lads gettnig married.He rode down Dean tce on a white horse.His name I think was Talla.My Gran thought it was great the whole street was out.She lived at No 10 Dean tce.

Isabella richardson lived at 91 Campbell st with her father william a ships carpenter born in south shields and her mother Jane, nee young born in North shields.They were married in sept.1874 in south shields. He was 29 she was 26 in 1881 census.Hope these are what you're looking for.

I think this is to do with a glass works.Ihave seen Patent slip bottles for sale on Ebay,they had a red hand on the bottle stoppers.

There was big slabs of concrete lying there on friday must have been at least 9 or 10 inches thick.Thats what made me think the bunker was being removed.

Look like they're digging it out .Passed a couple of times this week and there's a digger pulling it to bits.
