Re: DNA test

Fascinating Pilot. Goes to show what a mix we all are. I have some Spanish, Irish, British and European mostly in my DNA. You know what they say about the 6 degrees of separation. We may even share some ancestors from some few hundred years back!

Re: Some pics of China.....

I just have to put up these photos, it was magnificent, and how I wish we had it in Australia, between Melbourne to Sydney, and Sydney to Brisbane, how good would that be!! I'm so jealous now. Our trip on a Mag Lev train in Shanghai, we did 30 kms in 7 minutes. Speed went up to 432 kms per hour! So ...

How green is your green garden!
How cute and cuddly are the baby Groundhogs.
So are they a menace like rabbits?

Re: Some pics of China.....

Here are some pics of The Forbidden City, with high walls and huge thick doors and doorways, with steel locks. And the concubine buildings with interior views of how it was. We could all look through windows, but not enter to view it. So I did my best to take photos without reflections of the glass ...

Re: Some pics of China.....

My left knee developed a problem 3 months ago. I could barely bend if. I had X-ray and ultra sound last month and found out, 4 colonic irrigations arthritis (well no shyte Sherlock, I am in my mid 60’s) and fluid in the brain. It’s this fluid I wonder about. So in the beginning of the tour I was go...

Re: Some pics of China.....

Oh and hubby seemed to cope as he had broken his ankle 7 months earlier. He actually climbed all the way to the top of the Great Wall. He has longer legs than me so it was easier for him!

Re: Posting Photos

Oh it’s a brilliant camera!! I was deciding between the canon mk111 and Nikon d750 but since I had a previous Nikon DSLRs with all lenses that I already have, I opted for the Nikon d750 and it’s a good full framed camera. I agree re: too heavy, I wanted to take it on my China tour, but it would have...

Re: Some pics of China.....

Another epic tourist attraction is The Great Wall of China, and I have to admit, it isn't an easy task, these steps to climb were arduous. But I did manage to go half way up, and took some magnificent photos whilst up there! Have a look at the size of the steps and the steepness in the 2nd and 3rd p...

Re: Posting Photos

One of the things that makes Facebook attractive to many, is the ease with which you can share photos, videos etc. When I first joined this site, I used Photobucket to post photos, but that became increasingly complicated as they started to try and increase their revenue stream, which while underst...

Some pics of China.....

There's a lot we did, felt like a long year in that 13 days  I think going through the photos is an arduous task, but I will start now with the Terracotta Soldiers in X'ian. Fascinating place, and yet more to be unearthed, there are 500 archaeologists working there since the discovery in 1974 w...

Re: Hi from China :-)

So smoggy here in Shanghai. Last night we went on a boat tour of the Huangpu River with amazing neons lights on buildings reflecting in the water. We leave in about an hour to get transfer to airport. It’s about 9 am Shanghai time (Thursday) and we will be back in Melbourne by Friday 6.20 am. Then w...

Re: Hi from China :-)

The others are all saying they’ve eaten their way around China, and it’s all good, no one suffering any ill effects except for expanding waistlines!! I had this incredibly different ice cream it was black sesame. Oh and the everyday Chinese people are really lovely and respectable. Always ready to s...

Re: Hi from China :-)

We are going gangbusters here with full activities every day! Last night and tonight we didn’t do shows, were too tired and just wanted to crash in bed early. Today we went to a tea plantation. Went to a sky deck above Shanghai on the 88th floor. Then we went on a mag Lev train that went to 430 kms ...

Hi from China :-)

I will put photos up when we return, and I’m sure Sherri will also. The International flight from Melbourne was good, but the 2nd interstate flight to X’ian was 2 hours late. We left Sunday morn at 5.50am and arrived in X’ian Monday morning at 2.30 am. Then it was all go go go since then. Too much t...

Re: Dogs in pushchairs

Must be something wrong with the dogs in pushchairs, as most dogs benefit from a good walk and exercise. Only time we put our dog, with a comfy pillow, on a wheelburrow, .....our dog was getting onto being 16 yrs of age, and had some creeping paralysis, so we used to push him around in a wheelburro...
