Re: Commonewealth Games

I thought the closing ceremony was so boring, couldn't stop yawning, and kept getting up to do some chores instead of relaxing and enjoying the big TV. It was more like a disco or something.....all that singing......and Peter Beattie, always stuffing up, always apologizing.....I was wondering what s...

Re: I'm going on a Cruise

Glad to hear the cruise went okay Rosie. I'm due for a cruise this year somewhere, maybe NZ or maybe European cruise.....have to decide, but want to go on it before end of year. Hoping to do a family cruise together, I said to the family, we don't have to be in each other's way, the ships are so big...

Re: Commonewealth Games

Just ask shairy she'll fill you in with photo bucket and their expensive fees and how free it is with Imgur, for a added bonus she might give a dna story. I might have mentioned it to you & gnads but you forget, danet is rarely on here any more & never saw earlier posts. And what's more, it worked....

Re: Commonewealth Games

Daughter has recently moved to live up on the Gold Coast, and she is being frugal, but still enjoying the atmosphere and hype of the games without going bust. She is going to see only a couple of events, such as the beach volley ball, and the artistic gymnastics. Just because she can. The rest can ...

Re: Commonewealth Games

That's odd, I saw it was posted okay last night too, now it's gone. I will look up Imgur today at some time Sherri, and try to upload the photo again. In the meantime, there are some amazing wins for Australia with Gold and Silver, and some records too, like the men's cycling last night. Just ask s...

Re: Daddyo has passed away

I appreciate all the condolences for Jim, it saddened me to hear the news, and I will pass it onto Carol via email, although his wife emailed me through Jim's own email, she just let everyone on his email list know, I have written back, but it may be some time before Carol replies, as I imagine ther...

He looks so adorable. What a little angel. I pray he gets bigger and stronger and doesn't have any problems with lungs due to all the mishaps from that hospital in Bundaberg! keep us updated.

Re: Your best permanent employment

My last job as employee before I started a family, was at Cadbury Chocolates......I used to do data processing on the computer, watching hoards of sugar trucks going to the loading docks....so much sugar! But getting a pack of chocolates for us office workers to taste after it had been in transport ...

Re: Your best permanent employment

That's all so true about being self employed, sole trader, or having your own business etc in whatever form. It takes more responsibility and know how, and it is a learning curve. Just recently, well, a trend I noticed in the last 2 years which has effected my son's income as he is a self employed s...

Re: what was the scariest moment you have experienced

Probably, the most fearful moment, and realisation in disbelief, seeing a jet skier after being hauled onto the sand, with his father and paramedics working on him, to see him d*e. It made national news. Happened during the Australian WaterCross National Races in Queensland. We knew him, he was 22. ...

Re: What's the best thing that you have done that you didn't think you would enjoy?

Going to a Bali wedding in the great outdoors by the beach in the humidity. I was soooo not looking forward to it, and yet, the weather was mild, low humidity, the natives dancing on the beach was magical, and as soon as the son and his new bride cut the wedding cake, the surprise was spectacular fi...

Re: bad news in the family.

An update of how my friend's son is going. He had 2 operations within 24 hours. They are building his rib cage, something like that. Must have been crushed in at work, I think he works for the mines or wood logging. Heavily sedated, and has a long road ahead, but has survived. He became a new dad ju...
