Re: ANZAC DAY tomorrow
Might go visit one of my daughters. Husband likes to watch the march on TV. Me-after the visit I will get on with a bit of family history research. Currently working on a branch where a couple of very young men (English) were killed in the first world war, on the western front. I know their battalio...

Re: Man or Beast, which is the Real Pest?
It works like this, Ralph.
All the bad stuff, that's the fault of the English settlers, right?
If it's good stuff, then it was Australians.

Re: Man or Beast, which is the Real Pest?
Poor Ralph, when i think about it, we've hauled you over the coals not because you don't call us Australians, but for the opposite reason, you called someone an Australian too early. :D Basically, how we judge it is this. If you were born overseas and not in Australia, that makes you a migrant (wel...

Re: Man or Beast, which is the Real Pest?
It would be rather like saying to the English on the board that they aren't really English, nor were their ancestors really English, (even if they go back hundreds of years) unless they can prove they are pure Welsh. (Here's your cue, max). The Welsh are the ones with the most DNA from the indigeno...

Re: Man or Beast, which is the Real Pest?
If the British had not colonised Australia, it would have been the French. La Perouse arrived just days after the first fleet. One thing we can be sure of is that if the British had not come, someone else would have. Australia would not still be sitting here untouched in the 21st century. Things cha...

Re: Man or Beast, which is the Real Pest?
It's true that at some stage, everyone here who has a white background had ancestors who came over here, Who were not indigenous. But the question that pops into my head when people say that present day white people here are not truly Australian is this-how long would you expect someone to be able t...

Re: Man or Beast, which is the Real Pest?
It's sad, Ralph.
I'm sure there should be something else that we could do besides send them off to another country to be slaughtered. I'm against live animal export. From every report I have seen, it is inhumane.

Re: I'm going on a Cruise
You're a bug*er for punishment. :P :D Aw, 'fess up, it sounds awesome, doesn't it!! Those European cruises sound great. I've done the NZ one too & it is such a beautiful country. Hard to believe it is 3 years since our last cruises. We went on 2 that were only a few days apart, but that was back in...

Re: Commonewealth Games
That's odd, I saw it was posted okay last night too, now it's gone. I will look up Imgur today at some time Sherri, and try to upload the photo again. In the meantime, there are some amazing wins for Australia with Gold and Silver, and some records too, like the men's cycling last night. Just ask s...

Re: Commonewealth Games
I'm not sure what you mean. I mentioned that photobucket requires a subscription now. Imgur is free, I am not paying any subscription for my account anyway. The puzzle for me is why danet's photo was showing at all last night & why it is saying 'temporarily disabled' with her photobucket account now.

Re: Commonewealth Games
Glad she is enjoying it, danet.
PS I don't think photobucket works any more unless you pay a subscription, danet, although I saw your photo last night so I don't know what gives.
I use imgur now for photos as it is free.

Re: Commonewealth Games
What a wonderful experience for Mary. My father attended one of the events on the Olympic Games in Melbourne 1956 and always said the atmosphere was wonderful & couldn't be captured on the TV screen. Hope the Commonwealth Games has a great vibe for you both too.

Quite right. I'm scarier than any cricket board.max Headroom wrote: ↑Sun Apr 01, 2018 12:10 amThey should be forced to attend your course on how to fix everything in the world and end up like you perfect.

Re: Aussie Cricketers Caught Cheating
That was my thought exactly, seems pedos are not named and shamed (protected lot?) and not accountable to go up in front of media to confess their sins. But I bet what hurts the cricketers caught out in the bit of sandpaper, is the loss of their millions of income they would have received....I woul...

Re: Aussie Cricketers Caught Cheating
Film stars & sports stars are paid way out of proportion to their jobs. It is only a game but then again, at the international level it is tied in with money, lots of money. If we were talking about 10 year old boys at school, you'd only give them a reprimand, a talk about the virtue of honesty & th...

No need to get carried away, it wasn't the whole team, was it?
