Re: respect and threats

Must be cool over there at the moment, don't blame you for staying inside!

As for everything else, it's a waste of words in every direction & I'd say andy will pull the pin on this thread as soon as he has internet access.

Re: respect and threats

Do you like how students squeal when punished? I never heard any squeal but got feedback once after a teacher sent some of her year 4 boys to me to be told off because they had been nasty little pieces of work. Apparently I managed to get their attention as the teacher heard them say I was 'really ...

What do we have in black & white?
That someone has been seriously sick at age 70? It happens.

Re: respect and threats

Just a few musings on the word respect. I don't think anyone should earn respect. Respect should be given as a matter of course. But if someone is aggressive or abusive (talking more about real life situations), there should be the right of reply or self defence. Respect means giving basic human rig...

Enjoying following the web cam views (he's in Wellington) but I'm noticing that the weather is a bit drizzly. Might fine up a lot as they head north.

Pity it wasn't true, although 140 pound would be a huge reduction.

Re: Is that a gun in your pocket or are you pleased to see me

I'll bow to the expert knowledge of the men here, but I've never read it causes men to run around naked throwing faeces at people.
And at 27?
Surely there are other things to do in Bali.

You don't have to be an expert to know that gnads is right & it doesn't stack up. He's taken a cocktail of d*ugs alright, but I bet Viagra or similar is about the only safe one to own up to in Bali.

I see he's in Dunedin today. Wonder if he has any tours organised there. From memory there was a brewery tour or Cadbury tour amongst the options.

Re: New Zealand

Passing through right now by the looks of it. Little bit damp/overcast as it often is there, adds to the atmosphere, although we struck a rare sunny day when we were there. I just wish the webcams were continuous & not just a still picture updated every 5 minutes.

Really, we're a long way off track. If you look at this link here and click on the webcam for Sea princess, you'll see where Andy is-well, where he would be if he stood near the front of the ship. Lucky devil is about to head into Fiordland which is exactly the bit I missed. If you get a chance, cli...

Re: How many chances?

My solution to some crimes would be that okay, jails are open 24/7, how about one jail or section of a jail being for part time prisoners. Often we send people to prison for eg 2 months, 2 years etc. Or else they get community service. But some of the crimes people commit are what I would think of a...

Re: Kindness and Understanding

Ralph, I had to have a smile where you mentioned your post was long. To me it wasn't, in particular. I've been on Ancestry the last few days following leads for other people & to see a few short paragraphs in your post is a walk in the park in comparison. :D I would agree that humans possess more ca...

Re: How many chances?

True, Ralph. I don't think there will ever be agreement about sentencing or punishment. I found that very much in the schools. Parents were all for stricter discipline. I'd say if you were to do a survey, almost 100% for it. But when it came to an actual situation... not for their child. When their ...
