Re: THE COLLIERS LAMENT

Pretty useful as a start, back in the day!
I guess a lot of the old poems and old ways are dying out though.

Re: silly things your dad use to say.

My Father use to date everything by saying "before the holidays" or "after the holidays" meaning before WW2 or after WW2. His holidays were spent first in Belgium and France then in India and Burma. Your dad was old enough to have fought in WW1? That did surprise me as you're not all that old. I ca...

Re: a bourbon tasting challenge

Sherri its not hard to find a job once you're over 45 all you need is good work ethics The job I am on at the moment is the biggest project in Australia and have been there for four years and I am well over 45 yrs old In actual fact I was over 60 when they employed me.If you want to work you can ch...

Re: a bourbon tasting challenge

nah, I was just a labourer sherri, although I have layed a few bricks but not for a house. besides, my back plays up if I stand longer than 5 minutes. Then you need to not only stand up but start walking around more. Start small, work up to 5000 steps a day. You don't use it, you lose it, niagraa. :D

Re: Usa navy-0 any other boat 3

It sounds as if the Japanese tug drifted into it. I imagine smaller crafts could move out of the way or change direction a lot faster than the big destroyers. When it comes down to it, any ship needs a good captain & crew-think of the Costa Concordia sinking & there was nothing wrong with the ship. ...

That's never stopped him before. All that happens is he forgets what he has posted. :D

Niagraa

Bit worried about niagraa.
I noticed the board was super quiet & thought that's strange.

It's showing that Niagraa's last post was Tuesday 14th Nov.

This is Sunday 19th & it's not like him to be so quiet.
Hope it's just computer trouble.

You're ahead of me, I dare not change anything on my computer as I am hoping to finish/upload an album soon & have already lost it once with a computer meltdown.

Re: a bourbon tasting challenge

Once you're over about 45 it is extremely hard to find work, especially in any physical job. I love how politicians keep talking of moving the pension age and of how people as they can get older can switch to less strenuous work & part time work. There isn't much of that type of work out there, let ...

Re: wow !! best most popular songs over the years..

I've seen the posts but not the videos. :D Assuming it's the second you're worried about. Niagraa, I'm probably one of the least likely to be incensed on the board. A lot of the aussie men here get incensed if anyone looks at them sideways. And if I recall, I was about the only one back in the...

Good grief, it almost sounds like another country. I've never heard of or seen places quite as rough as that, Ralph (not even in Dandenong, Andy. :D )
Glad you escaped with your life, Ralph!

I'm surprised you use coral trout as bait. Isn't it supposed to be a top rated food fish itself?

Re: Ralph - Tell us About King Edward VIII

I'd be pretty sure Harry is fairly relieved he won't have the top job. Even for William, it shouldn't be any time soon. Logic tells us that there are hard times coming relatively soon for the family, as Prince Phillip & the queen are getting quite old. Never easy when parents/grandparents pass away....
