Re: Baby Groundhog

They aren't nearly as cute when they grow up and start digging holes in the ground.

They are a real problem on farms where you have livestock which can break a leg if they stumble into one of the holes

Farmers usually shoot them.

Re: Posting Photos

Right now we have lots of rabbits around and so pretty soon we will see the foxes arrive to dine on the plentiful food source. As the rabbits are taken, the foxes slowly fade away to another hunting ground. They seem to leave enough rabbits to regenerate. Mother nature seems to know what she is doing.

Re: The World has gone mad

Many years ago, in a previous house, Beachbitch and I got friendly with a new neighbor. The family were Italian and grew an awful lot of their own produce. One day we were over at their place chatting and he took us around the back of his house and showed us a half a dozen rabbits he had in a hutch ...

On the same vein, a few weeks ago a short haul airline in Ontario adopted a slogan which said "We don't treat our passengers like cattle" PETA (People for the ethical treatment of animals) objected to this ad on the grounds that it was "Offensive to animals" Instead of telling the dimwits to have a ...

Re: Back Home from Canada and the USA

Settling back in at home now after three weeks in North America. Good service only if you tipped. Surely the tipping process works the other way. You don't tip until you are leaving, so the wait staff would have no idea if you intended to tip or not. The only way they have a chance of a decent tip ...

Re: Back Home from Canada and the USA

Settling back in at home now after three weeks in North America. Food around the States not really the best and doesn't go far beyond Ribs, Wings, Taco's and Hamburgers. The above foods are standard fare in sports bars and if that's all you found to eat, you didn't look very hard for a decent resta...

Re: Halloween

I can't understand why people get their knickers in such a knot over Halloween. What's wrong with children actually getting away from the internet, creating costumes and being physically active running around from door to door. So it's not Australian. Boo Hoo. So it's intrusive in the mind of a few ...

Re: London Again......

The reason I ask is yesterday a "lone wolf" entered the US from Canada. He travelled a short distance to the Flint Michagon airport and stabbed a police officer. The Flint airport is a piddly small airport, so one would wonder why he chose this airport when there are larger airports with more targe...

Re: Elections and voting patterns

As someone who votes in every election, Federal, Provincial and Municipal, because it is my democratic right,I get thoroughly p*ssed off when someone tells me I have to vote. For the information of these people, I also have the right not to vote. That is democracy. You make people vote, and at some ...

Re: Snap General Election or 2nd EU referendum ?

Me I cant bring myself to vote Tory but on the EU I disagree with the Labour party so I will for the first time in my life apart from when I was away at sea, not vote at all. Sometimes, you just have to hold your nose and vote. Lately in Canada I've had to do just that. If you don't vote, you are t...

Beachbitch and I just got back from 4 months in Gariche Panama, where the average temperatures ran from the high eighties to the low nineties.

It hit 70 today here and it feels bloody freezing.
